Georgia Newborn Session At Home In Canton
I recently had the incredible opportunity to capture some beautiful, moment-led newborn portraits with excited siblings and two dogs at their home in Canton, Georgia. The family was warm and welcoming, and I could sense that this shoot was going to be something truly special.
As I arrived at their home, I was greeted by mom as she welcomed me inside as two excited pups made it clear they were eager to be a part of the photoshoot. The family's three older children were full of energy and excitement, thrilled to have their new baby brother captured in these precious moments.
Setting up my camera, my thoughts drifted back to how I arrived at this session at all. I was the second shooter at their wedding almost a year before and became social media friends. Once the announcement of their little one came I knew I wanted to throw my hat in for newborn portraits. And there I was attaching lens to camera, about to freeze the next hour in as many images as I could.
The dogs proved to be a little bit camera shy, but with some patience and encouragement from the kids we were able to get them to cooperate and join in on the fun. The children were full of energy and constantly on the move - snacking on pretzels and juice boxes or running from one room to the next or vying for the camera to be on them. I embraced the chaos and let them be themselves, knowing that these candid moments would make for the most memorable photographs.
As the shoot progressed, I found myself swept up in the magic of the moment. The family's love and connection shone through in each frame, and I was honored to be able to document such a special time in their lives. The beauty of documentary photography is that it captures real life as it happens, preserving moments that are truly authentic and timeless.
In the end, I left their home and our session feeling grateful for the experience and the opportunity to capture such a genuine and heartfelt family dynamic.
